Hey, I'm Alyssa/Lyss (She/They) I'm a stylist, salon owner, and your go-to hair expert.

I've been behind the chair for over a decade. I'm trained in everything from classic cuts to bold, vivid color. I love designing styles for clients that help them feel like the hottest, most confident version of themselves.

I opened Atlas in 2019 after over 4 years at the salon where I started my career. I had a lot of support from friends in the industry (thx sam & cas), prior experience from managing mall-rat retail stores, and enough determination, I set off on my own. I moved Atlas from Wicker Park to Lakeview East in 2021 and love my new home in Salons by JC.

When I'm not in the salon, you can catch me biking around the city, working on creative projects, or finding inspiration in many various artforms. Atlas is my way of bringing all of that creativity into one place: equal parts craft, artistry, and hangout.

appointment requests

I have online booking available where you can request a time and date for selected services.

Typically, your request will be approved with no issue but sometimes people will book for incorrect services and the appointment will need to be adjusted. I always reach out in the case of a declined appointment.

All appointment requests will be responded to within 72 hours. Appointments within 72 hours will be responded to as promptly as possible.

Messages and appointment approvals are done Monday- Friday from 8am-8pm. Messages sent outside of these hours will be responded to ASAP!

cancellation policy

I ask that you cancel your appointment within 48 hours of your scheduled appointment. Appointments canceled within 48 hours are subject to a 50% cancellation fee for their scheduled services.

Services that are canceled within 48 hours and rescheduled within 2 weeks (or soonest available) or services canceled due to illness or emergency are not subject to a cancelation fee.

I allow a 15 minute grace period for all late appointments. After 15 minutes we cannot guarantee enough time any or all scheduled services.

No-show appointments are noted and clients with a no-show history will be required to book with a credit card in order to secure their services and be charged 50% of their missed scheduled services as a cancellation fee.

Parking

We have a validated parking lot $7/3hrs or $11/12hrs and weekend. Park near the North Entrance and take the elevator down to floor 2.

Our garage uses Metropolis Parking online and it's very convenient, once you set up your account you're able to drive in and out with the system automatically charging your card upon exit. Don't forget to validate your parking with the proper QR code before leaving. Ask me for more details <3

Pro Tip: You can also find paid and free street parking in the neighborhood east of Broadway. The streets west of Broadway are mainly permit parking past 6pm so if you have a daytime appointment you may be able to find free parking ;)

How do I book an appointment?

If you're looking to book at my studio in Chicago, you can use my online booking platform and select the services you would like to book. There are descriptions of each service listed on both my Chicago Booking and Service pages.

If you're looking to book with me in Milwaukee please message me directly. I can't support two locations on my online booking platform. Dates and info can be found here!!

You'll most likely have your hair washed before or during your service. If your hair is particularly long or thick, do your best to detangle your hair the morning of your appointment.

Please do not wear your favorite shirt to the salon. I do my best to protect all clothing (including mine) from color or bleach damage, but it's an inevitable risk. Turtlenecks or collared shirts are also not encouraged. I really want to see and appreciate all of your sick fashion!! I can offer our bathrooms as a changing facility for before and after your appointment.
